Our People
We're proud to employ a diverse team of over 120 fantastic local people, all contributing positively to the great service we provide to our local community.
Sanders Coaches is owned by brothers Charles and Paul Sanders who are now supported by their sons Martin (Business Manager) and Daniel (Engineering Manager). Both bring a wealth of experience to the business, with Martin a Chartered Accountant and Daniel a qualified heavy mechanic. The wider senior management team also includes Richard Pengelly (General Manager), Kieran Smith (Operations Manager) and Carole Willimot (Finance & HR).
We have a dedicated Customer Services team, lead by Ian Richardson, who are happy to assist with any enquiries. All of the team are locally based with great knowledge of our network and the local area, meaning you are in safe hands when you need some assurance!
Our engineering and cleaning teams keep our fleet in tip-top condition, boasting an enviable first time pass MOT rate and a fantastic repute with the DVSA. Though much of their work is done behind the scenes, the level of skill and attention to detail invested by them is second to none.
Investing in quality training and building skills
A great team is only as strong as the training and support that they are given. We go above and beyond the legal minimum to ensure our staff are well equipped and competent in their jobs.
In 2024 we have completed extensive training across the business, including introducing Mental Health First Aiders, enrolling many of our Supervisors on an IOSH Health & Safety Course and completing Volvo-specific and IRTEC training for our engineers. We are pleased to have two very experienced driver trainers, including an RTITB-registered driving instructor and a qualified CPC trainer.
Our driver's periodic CPC training is varied and extensive, covering not only basic refresher training, but also specific and in depth technical training including a MiDAS approved wheelchair lift course and three yearly First Aid Training.

Through our internal driving school, we have been able to give a diverse range of local people the opportunity to access a secure career with a full vocational driving licence and Certificate of Professional Competence. We have welcomed more young people to our team than ever, including some of Norfolk's youngest bus drivers at just eighteen years old.
