Your simple, great value bus fares for 2025

Posted:

From January 2025, the current £2.00 single fare cap funded by HM Government, will rise to £3.00. Our new fare structure will be simple and easy to understand, offering you the same convenience and great value the £2.00 fare cap has offered.

There are just three bus fares to remember: £2.00, £2.50 or £3.00. It really is that simple!

On any Sanders local bus service*, you will never be charged more than £3.00 single no matter how far you travel – whether it’s Holt to Norwich, North Walsham to Great Yarmouth or Wells to Cromer!

For those making shorter journeys, fares will be capped at £2.50 (Adult)/£2.00 (Young Person) or just £2.00 for local journeys.

Fares within Norwich

We will still continue to offer great value fares along Cromer Road, Aylsham Road and North Walsham Road into Norwich City Centre.

A zonal system will apply in Norwich, with journeys from outer Norwich (such as Norwich Airport/Fifers Lane and Old Catton/White Woman Lane) into the City Centre costing just £2.50 (Adult)/£2.00 (Young Person).

Journeys from Inner Norwich (such as North Walsham Road/Parkland Road, The Boundary, Mile Cross and Constitution Hill) into the City Centre are frozen at just £2.00.

Local fares

All local fares will be frozen at £2.00, benefitting those who hop around one of the towns we serve. This includes from Cromer Bus Station to Cromer Hospital, from Fakenham Oak Street to Morrisons or from Willow Park to Aylsham Tesco.

Day tickets

Our great value Explorer ticket will remain frozen at just £12.00, offering you unlimited all day bus travel on all Sanders buses. Your ticket is also valid on any Lynxbus service in West Norfolk, convenient if you are changing buses at Wells or Fakenham.

Weekly tickets

Until the end of March 2025, Norfolk County Council will continue to fund 25% off weekly bus tickets, offering fantastic value for money to the regular commuter. Some weekly ticket prices will see a small increase of £1.00.

School buses

School bus fares unfortunately are not covered by fare cap funding. Normal bus fares will apply, but return tickets will be available on these journeys to offer better value for money. You can also purchase reduced weekly tickets (currently with a 25% discount!) or a termly pass direct from us.

*Local bus services do not include school-specific services or school day only journeys, or Norwich City Football Club home matchday coach excursions NC4 and NC5.
