Itinerary
MONDAY Depart from your home area travelling to Kent, arriving late
afternoon with a stop for lunch.
TUESDAY Today's excursion takes us first via the charming village of
Pluckley, setting for TV's 'Darling Buds of May, from here we continue south to the coast
and the small resort of Hythe. Here we join 'The World's Smallest Public Railway' - the
Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch miniature railway for the journey to New Romney
WEDNESDAY This morning we travel south to Bewl Water, the southeast's
largest lake set within beautiful Wealden countryside. Here we enjoy a cruise round the
lake and then take a break before continuing to visit the Spa town of Royal Tunbridge
Wells, with its elegant streets and Georgian buildings and the famous Pantiles, a
colonnaded shopping area in the town centre. We enjoy a guided tour of this historic town
and discover something of its 400 year history. Return late afternoon to the hotel.
THURSDAY Today we take a look at Biddenden Vineyards before visiting the
lovely town of Tenterden, with its antique shops and tea rooms. Here we join the Kent
& East Sussex Railway for a steam train ride to Bodiam, where, after a short break, we
head for the ancient Cinque Port of Rye, now some distance from the sea.
FRIDAY After breakfast we leave for the journey home
