THE GOLDEN AGE OF RAILWAYS, CANALS AND RIVERS

The golden age or railways, canals and rivers Coach Tour with Sanders coaches

Based in the ever popular Beaufort Park Hotel in the market town of Mold. With three railway rides, a river trip and a canal cruise, as well as a visit to the new Sunlight Vision, a look into life in the 1914's. We feel that this tour has something for all and is a delightful way to see some of the best spectacular Welsh scenery.

The Hotel
The AA 3 Star Beaufort Park Hotel is situated near the market town of Mold and is an ideal base for our tour. You are assured of a warm and friendly welcome and you will soon feel that you never want to leave. The Scandinavian style reception and mezzanine lounge provide an oasis of peace to relax, read or enjoy a drink.

There will be a special Welsh Evening when you will be able to enjoy not only the gentle strings of the harp during dinner but also a Male Voice Choir.

All bedrooms are en suite, and have colour TV, telephone, hairdryer, trouser press and tea & coffee making facilities.

Itinerary
MONDAY Depart from your home area travelling to North Wales and arriving late afternoon at the Beaufort Park Hotel. 4 nights stay - dinner, bed and breakfast.
TUESDAY Our first outing takes us to the pretty little town of Llangollen, in the beautiful Dee Valley. We ride over the spectacular Horseshoe Pass on the way and in Llangollen we join the Rheilfford Llangollen Railway for a nostalgic ride on a steam train and also take a ride on the 'Stream in the Sky' -The Llangollen Canal - gliding gently along over the country's biggest navigable aqueduct.
WEDNESDAY Today we travel to the historic Albert Dock in Liverpool. Here you can explore the interesting craft shops and exhibitions, visit the Beatles Story; take in the Tate Gallery or the Merseyside Maritime Museum. We enjoy a cruise on the River Mersey Ferries, and later visit the new Sunlight Vision museum, in the garden village of Port Sunlight. The village was built by William Lever for his employees as a token of early prosperity sharing with his workforce.
THURSDAY This morning we travel south through Oswestry to Welshpool where we join the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway for an unforgettable 8 miles journey through the beautiful Mid Wales countryside to Llanfair Caereinion. Next we head west to Dolgellau and then to Bala Lake and Llanuwchllyn. Here we join the Bala Lake Railway for a lovely ride along the lake shore to Bala itself, where we take a break and return later in the afternoon to Mold.
FRIDAY After breakfast we leave the hotel and begin our journey home.

Please be reminded that all excursions are subject to change due to weather or local conditions.
