We are taking a group to the Oberammergau passion plays in 2010 the passion play is an inspirational performance that occurs every ten years paying tribute to the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The plays origins date back to 1633 when Oberammergau community found itself under threat from the Bubonic plague -the town pledged that if God were to spare them death, they would perform a play each decade to celebrate the life and death of Jesus. Thankfully the vow appeared to work, and as a result the locals were true to their promise. Over 2000 of the village's residents working together to ensure the spectacle honours the vow of their ancestors and such is their dedication all male actors performing in the play take part in a Hair Decree - from ash Wednesday in 2009 all men are to grow the hair on their heads and face to ensure an authentic look in time for 2010.

29TH JUNE 2010 Depart Norfolk for Dover and P and O
crossing, continue to our overnight Hotel in Germany. (To be

30TH JUNE 2010 Travel onward to Hotel Schillingshof /
Bad Kohlgrub for 2 nights.
1ST JULY 2010 Hot lunch in Oberammergau before the
passion play.  Category 1 A ticket for the Passion Play with several course Hot Dinner during the play interval.
2ND JULY 2010 Depart and Travel to Landeck, Austrian
Tyrol and the Sonne Hotel where we shall stay for the next 5
nights.

During our stay there will be excursions to explore this
wonderful area of Austria.

Breakfast will be cold buffet and each evening 4 course
dinner.

7TH JULY 2010 We start our return travelling through lovely scenery to once again stop overnight in Germany.
8TH JULY 2010 Returning via P & O to Dover we arrive home in Norfolk late evening.
