Itinerary
THURSDAY Depart from your home area in the morning travelling to Bristol
and arriving late afternoon.
FRIDAY Our day begins with a trip across the majestic Severn Bridge
and along the beautiful Wye Valley to historic Monmouth for a short break. From here we
head for Symonds Yat where we enjoy a cruise on the River Wye. Lunch break today is in
Ross-on-Wye and we continue through the Forest of Dean to Lydney and Chepstow, before
returning to the hotel.
SATURDAY This morning we make the short journey into Bristol where we
collect our guide and enjoy a tour of this historic maritime city. Later we have free time
for lunch and this afternoon we visit Brunei's magnificent ship, the SS Great Britain.
This is a fascinating glimpse of the days when the migrants left for Australia and you can
see at first hand what life was like on board.
SUNDAY Today we head north into the lovely Cotswolds. We halt awhile in
Cirencester and then come to beautiful Bourton-on-the-Water, with the River Windrush
gently flowing through the village. We have time for lunch here before continuing on to
Toddington. Here we join the Gloucestershire-Warwickshire Railway for a nostalgic train
ride to Cheltenham.
MONDAY After breakfast we leave and begin our journey home.
Please be reminded that all excursions are subject to change due to weather or
